Audiometric Testing

OSHA Occupational Noise Exposure standard, 1910.95, for all employees who work in an environment where the time weighted average (TWA) of noise is greater than 85 dBA. Employees should be given a baseline audiogram upon initial hiring, with audiograms given annually thereafter. The annual test is compared to the employee a baseline to determine if hearing loss is occurring. GGC Work Care can travel to the employer and utilize the latest technology to conduct the testing with a CAOHC certified occupational hearing conservationist. It takes just a few minutes for each individual to complete, which includes a hearing history questionnaire and the hearing test administered in a sound reduction booth. If the testing shows that the employee has an unusual result or has sustained a standard threshold shift, a licensed physician will review the test.

Physical Demands Testing

Nationwide, companies have saved thousands of dollars using Physical Demands Testing and GGC Work Care is the area’s leading provider of this testing service. When used for post-offer, pre-placement or Return-to-Duty testing, Physical Demands Testing completes a collection of multiple strength and range of motion measurements in as little as 30 minutes with results available to employers within minutes.

Physical Demands Testing helps:

  • Reduce injuries by insuring employees have the physical strength to safely perform their job responsibilities.
  • Minimize workers compensation exposure by documenting impairments that an employee brings with them to the workplace.
  • Provide pre-work injury baseline measurements on an employee allowing treating professionals to expedite treatment.

PDT saves money:

  • $1 spent on testing typically saves $8 in direct medical cost savings.
  • Workers compensation premiums can be reduced 10% – 30%.
  • Injury rates are reduced up to 30%.

GGC Work Care assists employers in developing Functional Job Descriptions that are matched to the Physical Demands Test. The PDT utilizes the Department of Labor’s (DOL) five classifications of work and the American Medical Association (AMA) Guides. Physical Demands Testing is ADA and HIPAA compliant and has successfully undergone EEOC audits. It also complies with Kentucky Workers Comp legal standards.
